Writing in a post on ResetEra, Volition lead game designer Ryan McCabe paid tribute to Watson: He eventually became Volition community manager and the lead on a project to restore Saints Row 2 using the game's once thought lost source code. Watson was behind the mod that tackled issues with the PC port of Saints Row 2, dubbed the Gentlemen of the Row mod, as well as mods for Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row 4. In May, Watson's illness caused him to step down from his position as Volition community manager, although he continued to work on the Saints Row 2 patch project. Saints Row 2 was initially released in 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Volition said the previously console exclusive DLC - Ultor Exposed and Corporate Warfare - will finally come to PC, too.īecause it’s a small team, it could be a while before the Saints Row 2 compatibility patch is released. Saints Row has always been stupid, but before it went completely off the rails with dildo bats and super powers, Saints Row 2 reigned in its wackiness to create a beautifully bizarre Grand Theft Auto–like game - and it’s about to become playable again on PC.
